Round 10 Croft September 11 - 13

Podium joy at Croft!

British Superbikes

John Laverty was 3rd in his first qualifying section, demonstrating his potential but a small off with 5 minutes remaining meant he had to use his spare machine in the second qualifying phase. Despite not using this machine all weekend John made a valiant effort just 0.4 seconds slower than his preferred machine. John went on to qualify 12th. Race 1 and John was determined to push through the pack. Unfortunately due to a fuel pressure problem John was slowest through all speed traps. Undeterred John fought all race long coming home in 14th and taking valuable championship points. Race 2 and John pushed through to take 10th place. This now moves John up to 11th position in the championship standings and still in an eight rider battle for fourth overall.

Tristan Palmer endured a difficult weekend at Croft, race 1 ended prematurely for Tristan as a technical issue forced him to retire. Race two and eager to make up for race 1, Tristan crashed at Tower bends, fortunately uninjured and hoping for a turnaround in fortunes at Silverstone in 2 weeks time.

Luke soon found a great race pace in the qualifying sessions obtaining his best ever qualifying in 3rd position. A great start saw Luke maintain his position and push Jamie Hamilton for the second place, watching his pit board Luke saw his gap increasing to over six seconds in front of fourth place. Riding a professional final few laps Luke brought it home for his second podium of the year. Luke now sits eighth overall with the aim of finishing in the top six from the remaining two rounds.
