Strong results for the Buildbase Kawasaki team
at Donington Park
British Superbikes
John Laverty returned to action this weekend after his crash at Oulton Park. John concentrated on finding a good race setting throughout the free practice sessions on Saturday. Although only qualifying 14th on the grid John & his crew were confident about achieving a higher race position on Monday. In both superbike races John fought through from 14th to take 9th each time. In only his 3rd & 4th races on the Kawasaki ZX10R, John’s confidence and understanding of the bike is growing each time and now moves on to the ultra fast Thruxton circuit.
National Superstock 1000
James Hillier rode a storming race to come from 15th on grid to finish in 6th place and top Kawasaki. Having struggled in the early practice sessions and crashing during qualifying 1, James dug deep to score valuable championship points putting him 7th in the overall standings.
National Superstock 600
Luke Stapleford qualified in 4th place taking his first front row start at his local round. Making a good start Luke sat in 4th place until an incident at Goddard's corner ended in a crash ruling him out of the race. Luke now sits 5th in the overall championship standings but fit and raring to go at Thruxton this weekend.
Tristan Palmer endured some testing times during the three free practices sessions. Still Tristan showed true grit and determination to qualify 15th with his best qualifying lap spoilt with a small mistake at the Foggy Esses. In Race 1 Tristan was keen to make amends but unfortunately fell at the Melbourne Loop. Race 2 however was a different story as Tristan recorded a seasons best 8th place and now aims for top six finishes at Thruxton. |
