Laverty storms to 5th at
Snetterton!!
British Superbikes
John Laverty continued his impressive form throughout the weekend at Snetterton taking his best qualifying so far with 9th. Laverty made an excellent start in race 1 settling in to 7th but the race was red flagged after 8 laps. From the restart an issue with the quickshifter and the tyre spinning on the rim becoming unbalanced ruined any chances of maintaining the leading pace and John finished 13th. Race 2 and Laverty made another good start sitting in 7th right behind the leading bunch and battling with Ian Lowry and Julien Da Costa. John pushed hard throughout the race first passing Da Costa and then Lowry to take a careers best 5th place and also the teams best result so far this season.
Tristan Palmer returned from his huge crash at Thruxton, still struggling with the injuries he sustained. Tristan battled hard throughout the weekend but struggled to find good set-up and rhythm and consequently qualified 21st. A great start in race 1 saw Tristan battling for 15th only to be denied on the last lap coming home 16th. Race 2 and feeling the effects on his injuries Tristan came home in 19th place. With two weeks off before Knockhill Tristan heads to his favourite circuit knowing he will be much stronger.
National Superstock 1000
James Hillier set a good opening pace in qualifying 1 this weekend but unfortunately crashed twice ending his session early. Like Luke, qualifying 2 a wash out and the weather put pay to any hopes of progressing up the leader board from 13th. James started the race confident of a good result and sure enough he battled hard to come home in a strong 9th keeping him 7th in the overall standings.
National Superstock 600
Luke Stapleford started his weekend 5th during free practice 1, however with qualifying 2 held in damp conditions only qualified 19th just 0.4 of a second from the front row. Luke was up to 9th by lap 3 but a mistake on lap 4 saw him on the grass re-joining the race in 34th place. Lapping as fast as the leaders Luke fought back to finish 19th as the chequered flag came out. Not the result Luke deserved but a very good ride and certain of turning his luck at Knockhill.
