PRESS RELEASE UPDATE - Le Touquet Penalty for AubinAfter running out of fuel at the entrance to the pits, Buildbase Honda racer Nicolas Aubin began to push... Being a front-running French motocross star on his home turf, there were no shortage of helpers and while this outside assistance from other riders this was not to be Nico`s downfall, he did carve his way through the pits in (perhaps) a more direct route than he would have normally used!
Due to the slight deviation through the pits, the event officials took a negative view at the end of the race and decided to demote Aubin to 13th place.
Nico – “Of course this is disappointing, but I race to win, so, for me coming second was also disappointing”.
D.T – “I don`t want to dwell on ‘what if`s’. We are over it and focussing on the next event. As far as I am concerned, this was still a great effort from the whole team and a fantastic training exercise”. |

Aubin Leads Le TouquetIn the past few minutes, Nicolas Aubin finished a fantastic second place in the 2012 Le Touquet Beach Race aboard his CRF450 Buildbase Honda.
The race was not without drama with 1080 riders on the line, Nico` began in 5th place but was soon in the lead, battling with Jean Claude Mousse for the first half of the race and unlucky to run out of fuel at the entrance to the pit lane. Helped by other riders, Nico` pushed his bike to his pits and was soon back on track, fighting hard to a brilliant 2nd place at the flag. |

Nico – “I was really pleased with my Honda CRF450, it ran well and my fitness and speed was good for the whole race, it was a great warm up for the first few sand races in the UK”.
D.T – “What a great effort… I watched the race from start to finish and Nicolas was fantastic, he worked hard and the bike was faultless. The team have been working hard over the past few months and it`s all beginning to come together on the track. This Le Touquet race is definitely a taste of what`s to come”.
With Nico leading the MX2 Championship, we are now looking forward to the final round of the UK Supercross Series at the LG Arena on the 18th of February and hope to see you there.
